Dr. M. Joyce Nirmala PhD is a Young Scientist, Department of Science and Technology-Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB), Government of India. Her current host Institution is the Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM). She obtained her PhD in Nanobiotechnology from the Centre for Nanobiotechnology (CNBT), VIT University in 2015. She twice received the Research Scholar Award from Vellore Institute of Technology with the highest cash prize for the year 2012 and 2013. This was to honor her maximum number of research publications in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. During her doctoral degree, she published thirty one research articles in reputed peer reviewed International Journals with a cumulative impact factor of 33.81 (total citations=72 as per RG). She worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant (TRA) in the School of Biosciences and Technology (SBST), VIT University (2010-2014). She completed her post graduation (M. Sc) in Biotechnology from VIT University in 2009. Dr. M. Joyce Nirmala did her Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) in Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) (2000-2003), followed by one year of internship in 2004. She also completed her two years of bond period in the Department of Microbiology and the Department of Clinical Pathology of CMCH, Vellore. She also obtained her Honors Diploma in Computer Applications (2004). She worked on a research Project titled “Anti microbial use and resistance of E. Coli in pregnant women in India” (AMUREC) in the Department of Microbiology, CMCH in collaboration with WHO, Geneva (2005). She also worked on another research project entitled “Pharmacological and biochemical studies of Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist in combination with phosphatidic acid” in the Department of Pharmacology, CMCH (2009). She is a Life Member at Innovare Academics Sciences Group. She is nominated as the Editorial Board Member for the “Journal of Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology” (OMICS) and “International Journal of Current Pharmaceutical Research”. She is a regular reviewer of many other International Journals of high repute. She gave an invited talk at TM’s 1st World Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology Online Conference, Target Meeting, TX, USA. She participated in many National and International Conferences.
