Dr. Meenakshi Arora received her PhD in 1999 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at School of Biosciences, University of California Irvine. Currently, she is full time faculty as Research Assistant Professor of Medicine at Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine in University of Pittsburgh. She has authored and delivered various publications and presentations on a variety of topics associated with allergic airways disease (asthma). She is also a member of Indian Immunological Society, International Complement Society, Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, American Association of Immunology, American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Society for Mucosal Immunology.
Dr. Meenakshi Arora’s research interest include: Influence of immunomodulatory agents (drugs) on dendritic cell functions. Generation of myeloid derived suppressor cells and their role in the regulation of pulmonary immune responses. Role of myeloid derived suppressor cells in immunologic tolerance of organ transplantation. Influence of cells of innate immune system on adaptive immune responses in lung infection and allergic asthma.
