Dr. Masanori Tohno received his PhD in agricultural science from Tohoku University, Japan where he was honored with the best research award of the president of Tohoku University to complete his postgraduate studies.He then did a post doctorate JSPS fellowshipfor young scientist at Tohoku University (graduate school of dentistry) and Institute of Natural Medicine of Toyama University to study microbiology, immunology and physiology. Currently, he is working in National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science in Japan. In 2008, he was awarded the best young research award of Japanese Society of Animal Science for outstanding contribution to agricultural and animal science. He was also awarded the award for the original paper of the Nestle Nutrition Coucil, Japan (2007), and the best paper award of Japanese Society of Animal Science (2011).
