Biography

Dr. Martin Wawruch graduated as a medical doctor from the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava in 1999. He received his PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacology at the same university in 2003. He has worked at the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University since 2000, first as assistant professor and, since 2007, as associate professor. His research is focused on the analyses of the quality of pharmacotherapy in elderly patients. He published a number of peer-reviewed publications in this area. Currently he is supervising four PhD students. He is a member of commissions for PhD thesis defence at two Medical Faculties and the Faculty of Pharmacy. He has served as a peer reviewer for several medical journals. He works as an external assessor of the State Institute for Drug Control of the Slovak Republic.
