Biography

I graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai, China with a BS in Biochemistry, and MS in Virology from joined program of Fudan University and Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After working in the Center for Biotechnology in Shanghai for a short period, I went to study in SUNY Stony Brook (now Stony Brook University) and obtained a PhD in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. I trained in Yale University School of Medicine as a HHMI postdoctoral fellow and in the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology/UCSF as a postdoctoral associate, both in the field of Immunobiology. After serving as a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Immunology in Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, I joined the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Sciences, National Institute on Aging, NIH to head the receptor unit where I study vascular inflammation and the impact on aging.

Research Interest

My research interests focus on how innate immune signaling triggers vascular inflammation and impacts physiopathological changes and aging. We are also interested in translating basic research to potential clinical applications.
