Biography

I studied in Guadalajara Mexicoall my basic education including medical school. From 2000-2004 I did the Internal Medicine residency at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias y Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán, sponsored by the National University of Mexico (UNAM). When I finished residency I went to Mayo Clinic, Rochester Minnesota to pursue A Master’s in Biomedical Sciences, in the Clinical Research Training Program by the Mayo Graduate School and a Research Fellowship, in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. I actually work as a professor at the Universidad de Guadalajara andteach Gastroenterology and Evidence Based Medicine to undergraduate students. I also teach at the UVM to master´s degree students. I am involved in several research projects related to the hepatology field as the principal investigator. I also work as a co-investigator in the department of Molecular Biology in Medicine at the Universidad de Guadalajara.

Main research interests: Hepatocarcinoma Cholangiocarcinoma, PSC Probiotics, the liver Alcohol, the liver Obesity, the liver Fibroscan and the liver .
