Dr. Kaustav Aditya has over 11 years of experience in research, teaching, training and consultancy in statistics. At present he is working as Senior Scientist at Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi, India. He did his M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics with major in Modelling and forecasting. He has developed several multivariate models for forecasting of crop yield and weather forecasting. He did his Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics with major in Sample Surveys from Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi, India. He works on diverse areas of methodological and applied problems in statistics, including forecasting and modelling, Bayesian methods in modelling, survey design and estimation methods, small area estimation, disaggregate level estimation and analysis of agricultural data, socio-economic and health indicators; spatial models for survey data, calibration estimation, domain estimation, survey nonresponse and statistical methods for improvement in agricultural and livestock statistics. He has worked as a consultant in several projects funded by FAO of United Nations and visited countries like Rwanda and Nepal. He has contributed in around 15 national and international funded projects of importance and published around 30 research papers in highly reputed national and international journals. He has developed several softwares like Mobile Assisted Personal Interview (MAPI) for survey data collection, Software for Data Entry in Agricultural Surveys, Analytical software for Small Area estimation etc. He has published few books, several book chapters and popular articles, training manuals, working papers, reports etc.
