Karol Jackowski
Professor, Faculty of Chemistry
University of Warsaw, Poland
Dr. Karol Jackowski received his Ph.D. inthe area of physical chemistry from University of Warsaw, Poland in 1974. In 1976 one year post-doctoral position at University of Sheffield, Great Britainin research group of Dr. William T. Raynes.Later (1983-1985) he joined Prof. Cynthia J. Jameson at University of Illinois at Chicago Circle, USA, for 2 years as visiting assistant professor and lecturer in general chemistry. He completed a habilitation (D.Sc.) in 1996 and presently, he is full professor of physical chemistry and head of Laboratory of NMR Spectroscopy at Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. His research involves experimental spectroscopic studies of intermolecular interactions and molecular dynamics, mostly in the gas phase with application of multinuclear magnetic resonance. Since 2007 he is member of ISMAR Council (International Society of Magnetic Resonance) and Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Spectroscopy and the American Journal of Physical Chemistry.
Molecular spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), calculations of nuclear magnetic shielding, intermolecular interactions, molecular dynamics and standardization of NMR spectra
