Dr. Joaquin Dopazo is the Head of the Department of Bioinformatics at the Centro de Investigacion Principe Felipe, in Valencia, Spain. He earned his Ph.D. at University of Valencia, Spain. Currently, he is the leader of the Functional Genomics Node of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute and heads a group of Bioinformatics in the Spanish Network of Rare diseases. He has published more that 140 Reviewed papers, and he was author of 19 book chapters and has edited a book. He organizes international courses on transcriptomics on yearly basis. He is member of the MGED advisory board. He is part of the editorial board in journals in the area of Bioinformatics. He organized several international conferences, like CAMDA.
