Ji-jing Pang
Research Associate Professor
University of Florida, USA
Dr. Pang received his MD in 1988 from China Medical University and got his PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University just before he moved to Oakland University for retinal gene therapy training in 1999. Dr. Pang moved to UF in 2002 and rescued many mouse models of human retinal disease, for example, 1) rd12 mice, a natural model of LCA with RPE65 mutation, 2) Cpfl5 mouse, a model of achromatopsia 2 with cnga3 mutations, 3) the rd10 mouse, a model of human retinitis pigmentosa with PDEb?mutations, 4) Cngb3 KO mice, a model of achromatopsia 1. With other researchers, Dr. Pang also rescued different mouse models with retinal degenerations, such as Cpfl3, rd17, GC-1-/-, LART-/- and Ccl2/Cx3cr1 mice. Dr. Pang has more than 30 publications and gave 40 invited seminar talks internationally in the past 5 years. Dr. Pang currently is a Research Associate Professor at Ophthalmology, University of Florida
Research interest: Adeno-associate viral vector-mediated gene therapy for inherited retinal diseases.
