Jeffry L Kashuk is Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Section of Acute Care Surgery, and the Associate Chief of the Division of Trauma, Acute Care and Critical Care Surgery. He also serves as the Associate Director of the Shock Trauma Center. Prior to his arrival at Hershey, he served as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado and as a staff surgeon at Denver Health Medical Center’s Rocky Mountain Trauma Center. For nine years, he served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces, and developed special expertise in the care of traumatic bomb explosion injuries. Dr. Kashuk is the author and co-author of over 70 academic manuscripts as well as book chapters. Dr. Kashuk’s primary research interests are in post injury coagulation related disorders. He is a member of numerous professional societies, currently serving as the Vice Chair, Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Disaster Management course and committee, as well as the injury prevention committee of the American Association for Surgery of Trauma. Dr. Kashuk recieved his BA, cum laude, from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin, and his MD degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr. Kashuk serves on the editorial board of Patient Safety in Surgery and as a reviewer for most major journals of surgery.
