Biography

Dr. J. F. Thomas is the Dean of the College of Health Science of the University of Buraimi, Sultanate of Oman. His Ph.D is in Technology Mediated Education in Allied Health Sciences, and M. Phil is in Hospital and Health Systems Management. He has 23 years of experience in post secondary education. His publications include five self study text books for Distance Education Health Science Courses. He was instrumental in launching India’s first three Allied Health Science degree programmes by Distance Education. A low cost IV Trainer invented by him is registered for Patent in India (No: 239/CHE/2008). He was invited to provide feedback on the Draft Guidelines on Open Educational Resources developed by the Commonwealth of Open Learning and UNESCO, and recently by the International Association of Technology, Education and Development (IATED) to review INTED 2013 conference papers. He is an external reviewer for the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA)
