Dr Harold Kunal Elias has received his Medical education bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree (2002-2008) from Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Currently, he is Working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the department of Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI).
• Differentiation machinery of adult-bone marrow derived stem cells, embryonic stem cells and iPS cells into functional cardiomyocytes. The role of Wnt, Notch and BMP in regulating this mechanism.
• Hematopoietic niche in bone marrow, which governs the self-regulating mechanism of stem cells and directs their homing properties.
• Role of noncoding RNA’s such as miRNA, as key genomic expression modulators, regulating the cardiomyocyte lineage.
• Exosomal transport of miRNAs and their potential role as therapeutic models.
