Biography
Dr. Haris G. Vikis received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2003 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in 2004. Dr. Vikis was subsequently appointed as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and a member of the Cancer Genetics and Chemoprevention Programs of the Siteman Cancer Center. In 2010 he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Medical College of Wisconsin.
Research Interest
1) mechanistic, genetic and chemoprevention studies regarding the role of inflammation in lung cancer susceptibility
2) positional cloning of lung cancer susceptibility genes through resequencing methods and functional analysis of candidate genes in vitro and in vivo.
