Guanyu Wang, physicist and biochemist. He received two PhDs: one is of engineering from Zhejiang University China in 1998; the other is of medical sciences from University of Cologne Germany in 2005. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Health Information 20002003; as a research assistant professor at Medical School of the same university 20032005; as a visiting scientist at Rice University 20052006. He then remains as an assistant professor at the Physics Department, George Washington University. His research interests are in the areas of biophysics and biochemistry, systems biology, and cancer. He applies nonlinear dynamics to study complex biochemical networks, and how the deregulation of such networks may lead to diseases. His researches have advanced our understanding of complex diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
