Dr. Gerard Siest is working in the research group “Génétique Cardiovasculaire” Nancy University. He was trained as pharmacist in the Strasbourg and Nancy Universities and later with a specialisation in biochemistry and laboratory medicine. He earned his PhD at the Nancy University and was teaching biochemistry and molecular pharmacology for 30 years. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences vice president of the Nancy University for research and chairman of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine. He is a board member of the International Society of Pharmacogenomics and of the International Society of Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics. He was also Editor in Chief of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine for 12 years and is currently in the editorial board of the following journals: Pharmacogenomics; Personalized Medicine; Fundamental and Clinical Pharmacology; and Nutrition Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is organising regularly the Biologie Prospective Santorini Conferences the next one taking place end of September 2010. He received many awards like Doctor Honoris Causa of Laval and Krakow Universities. He is the author of more than 600 publications in peer reviewed journals.
