Furuichi Naotaka
Associate Professor, Graduate School of Science and Technology
Niigata University, Japan
Dr. Naotaka Furuichi has received his PhD in Nagoya University during the period of 1978-1981. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor in Niigata University.
Naotaka Furuichi's lab is concerned with elucidating the mechanisms of plant hypersensitive cell death of host plants. The lab devotes into the recognition receptors for PiP elicitor and suppressor of the defense reaction in plant cells. Current studies are examining to analyze the interaction of Ca2+-dependent protein kinase, NADPH oxidases(Active Oxygen Generating Enzyme) and suppressor of Phytophthora infestans in a single molecule analysis level in the infected host cells by using the Fluorescent cross correlation (FCS) LSM. Each of projects aims a future bridge between basic science and applied physiological and molecular plant pathology.
