Biography

Associate Professor Dr. Ir. Faris Tarlochan is currently the Head for the Center of Advance Computational Engineering in Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council (UK) and Board of Engineers Malaysia respectively. His area of interest includes design for crashworthiness and impact, stochastic methods in engineering design and processes, mechanics of composite materials, finite element methods and biomechanics. He has successful lead several national research grants and consultancy projects. He is also active in engineering education. He is one of the youngest panels serving the Engineering Accreditation Council in evaluating mechanical engineering programs in Malaysia. He is currently a visiting scholar to a company in Malaysia assisting in design of mechanical clamps.
