Eugen Romulus Lontis is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Health Science and Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark. He received his doctoral degree in biomedical engineering in 2005 from Aalborg University and the master degree in electrical engineering in 1995 from Technical University of Timisoara, Romania. His research focuses on biological signal processing, stimulation of nervous tissue with electromagnetic fields, and sensor technology for rehabilitation. The aim of Romulus’ work is to providemotor control, functional restoration and assistive devices for persons with disabilities. He has been involved in the past years in development of a tongue control system for control of computers and wheelchairs for persons with spinal cord injury.
