Biography

Dr. S. Mohana Roopan completed his BSc. in Chemistry from V.H.N.S.N. College, Virudhunagar (Affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai). He persued his MSc. in Organic Chemistry from VIT University, Vellore, India. He also did MBA in distance from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India. Under the guidance of Dr. F. Nawaz Khan, Associate Professor, VIT University, Vellore, India. he did his PhD. in Organic Chemistry. The thesis entitled, “Synthesis of nitrogen Heterocyclic compounds and their biological properties-Quinolines, Indolines, Quinazolinones, Luotonins” (VIT University, Vellore, T.N. India).

Research Interest

His Research interests includes: ï‚· Discovery and development of new synthetic methodologies for the synthesis of architecturally complex natural products or lead compounds having pharmacological importance. ï‚· Development of new catalyst and their application in the field of organic synthesis. ï‚· Synthesis and larvicidal activity of Nitrogen heterocyclic compounds. ï‚· Biosynthesis of nanoparticles and its catalytic application in the heterocyclic ring construction ï‚· Isolation and identification of biologically active compounds from the Indian medicinal plants.
