Biography
Dr. Demeral David Liu obtained a D.D.S. degree from Ankara School of Dentistry, National Defense Medical Center, Taiwan. He earned a M.S Graduate Institute of Dental Science, National Defense Medical Center, Taiwan. Dr. Demeral David Liu has been a Professor of Periodontology, Departmetn of dentistry, China, Medical University and Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan (2010-present). The ultimate goal of Dr. Liu\\s Lab. is to investigate the fesibility of autologous cell therapy for periodontal regeneration, neurotrauma and neurodegeneration.
Research Interest
His Lab investigates the feasibility of autologous cell therapy for neurotrauma and neurodegeneration. Using the stroke and spinal cord injury animal model to perform the preclinical study of human olfactory ensheathing cells-derived from surgical specmens of nasal polyp. Recently, investigating the underlying mechanisms of neuroplasticity for the hidden properties of olfactory ensheathing cells under hypoxic or neurotraumatic stress.
