Davide Vigetti
Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry
University of Insubria, Italy
Davide Vigetti has received his Ph.D. in Evolutionary and Developmental Biology from the University of Milan, Italy in 2001. He obtained a postdoc fellowship at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy where he started to study glycobiology and the extracellular matrix. In 2004, he became an assistant professor of biochemistry in the School of Medicine of the University of Insubria. From 2015, he is an associate professor in biochemistry in the same institution. He is author of 65 peer reviewed papers published in high-impact journals, more than 1100 citations, and an H-index of 18. He has been invited as speakers at several conferences, wrote several books chapters, has been a guest editor of a special issue on cell microenvironment, and has been the organizer of the 10th international conference on hyaluronan. He is a member of several scientific societies and is part of the Journal of Biological Chemistry Editorial Board.
The cell biology and pathology of connective tissue focusing on vascular biology and tumors. Specific interests include molecular aspect of the regulation of hyaluronic acid and proteoglycans synthesis (glycobiology, epigenetic, post-translational modifications as phosphorylation, acetylation, O-GlcNacylation). Role of cell microenvironment on cell behaviour.
