Biography

Professor David Wray MD (Honours), BDS, MB ChB, FDS RCPS, FDS RCS (Edinburgh), F Med Sci, graduated in Dentistry and Medicine in Glasgow University. He took up the Chair of Oral Medicine in Glasgow University in 1993.  He became Associate Dean for Research in 1994 and was appointed Dean of Dental Education in Glasgow University from 2000 to 2005. He was Clinical Director of Glasgow Dental Hospital from 2002 to 2009. He has recently chaired the NICE Guidance Development Group lo looking at prophylaxis against infective endocarditis. He has over 100 publications including 9 books and 29 chapters in books.

Research Interest

His main research interests are chronic neuropathic pain and oral mucosal disease.
