Worked on a novel protein and its characterization. Isolation of Bacteriocin producing strains of lactic acid bacteria from vaginal swabs of healthy and fecund females and evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against pathogens causing important human diseases such as bacterial vaginosis, gastrointestinal infections, nosocomial and skin diseases. Therapeutic application of this probiotic strain to protect against gastrointestinal infections may be of great importance for future medicinal use. Selected strain is being suggested here as a candidate strain for formulating topical personal care therapeutics aimed at prevention and treatment of many human diseases especially bacterial vaginosis.
