Biography
Ashwath Jayagopal is a Research Assistant Professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Vanderbilt University in Nashville TN USA where he earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2008. He has published extensively on the applications of imaging and therapeutic strategies for ophthalmology oncology and cardiovascular medicine. He is a member of the American Chemical Society the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Heart Association.
Research Interest
The main objectives of Dr. Jayagopal·s research are to develop disease-specific imaging and drug delivery agents, and to identify molecular targets accessible by these agents for clinical applications in ophthalmology, oncology, and cardiovascular medicine.
