Dr. Angel Pérez-Ruzafa did is BSc in Biology in the University of Murcia (Spain) and M.Sc. in the University of La Laguna (Canary islands-Spain) (1980) and a PhD degree (1989) in the University of Murcia. He has authored or co-authored 74 books and book chapters and 90 articles in peer reviewed journals, 62 of them included in the SCI. 1011 citations in SCI journals. His research has been developed through 45 national and international projects at Galapagos islands, Atlantic archipelagos (Azores, Madeira, Canary islands and Cabo Verde), Antarctic and the Mediterranean. Former Vicechancellor of Universitary extension and International Relationships of the university of Murcia. Former coordinator of the European Commission Project Empafish (‘European Marine Protected Areas as tools for Fisheries management and conservation’) and OOCMUR (Coastal Oceanographic Observatory of Murcia) project for the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Murcia Regional Government. Dr. Angel Pérez-Ruzafa has attended to many courses, seminars, conferences presenting his eminent work during his tenure. He is an active member of many commities also and has a numbe rof publications in hus name.
