Dr. Amy M. Grunden has received her PhD in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida during the period of 1993-1996. Currently, she is working as an Associate Professor of Microbiology at North Carolina State University where she has developed a rigorous research program focused on the microbial physiology and biotechnological applications of extremophiles. She is serving as editor-in-chief of the KBM Journal of Microbiology and routinely reviews for the journals Applied and Environmental Microbiology and the Journal of Bacteriology among others. She is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology and Sigma Xi.
