Biography

Alessandro Dagnino is contract professor in Ecological Risk Assessment at the University of Eastern Piedmont (Italy) where he obtained his PhD degree in Environmental Science. In 2002, Dagnino joined the research group of professor Viarengo and he started developing tools for ecological risk assessment in marine, freshwater and terrestrial environments and studying pollutant-induced effects on marine, freshwater and terrestrial organisms. Dagnino was involved in different research projects granted by the European Commission, such as MEECE (Marine Ecosystem Evolution in a Changing Environment), NoMIRACLE (Novel Methods for Integrated Risk Assessment of Cumulative Stressors in Europe), LINFA (LIFE-Environment Interventions for Fraschetta Area) and BEEP (Biological Effects of Environmental Pollution in marine coastal ecosystems). Dagnino is member of the Board of the SETAC Italian branch. Dagnino teaches “Human Health Risk Assessment”, “Ecological Risk Assessment” and “Environmental Sustainability” in academic degree courses and masters.
