The aqueous extract of green seaweed, Chaetomorpha antennina was used for the biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles. The Silver Nanoparticles were formed due to the reduction of silver nitrate to aqueous silver ions in the presence of seaweed extract. The synthesized silver Nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). The biosynthesized Silver Nanoparticles were assayed for its antibacterial activity which recorded that it had the highest activity against Escherichia coli, the zone of inhibition was 1.16 ± 0.00 cm, the next highest inhibitory activity was found against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (0.81 ± 0.06 cm) and also quite good zone of inhibition was found against Klebsiella pneumoniae (0.44 ± 0.0..
