Biography
Dr. Chan is the Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology, and the Director of the Beijing Institute of Geriatrics (BIG) at the Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University in Beijing, China and Adjunct Scientist at the Parkinson’s Institute, Sunnyvale, California, USA. Dr. Chan was trained in Neurology and Neuroscience in both China and the USA.. Since his return to China in 2000, he has continued to study the distribution of and risk factors for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases in a few unique cohorts in China. He has initiated projects investigating the role for Traditional Chinese Medicine in prevention of neurodegenerative diseases.
